AGENDA |
The European SPES Forum organises its activities according to a threefold agenda: a spiritual and philosophical, an ethical (action oriented) and a research agenda.
The spiritual and philosophical agenda consists of more reflective activities in order to deepen the meaning of spirituality and its role in society. e.g. |
- Study of the sources and masters of social spirituality
- Unity and diversity between spiritual traditions in East and West
- The art of spiritual discernment
|
The ethical agenda focuses on practices which are considered as concrete expressions of the new spiritual philosophy of public life. e.g. |
- New practices of values-driven leadership
- Spirit in Business
- New practices of spiritual sense making in organisations
- The practice of a Buddhist Economy
- The economy of communion
- Work and spirituality
- New public forms of inter-religious dialogue
|
The research agenda aims at investigating the conditions and effects of spirituality and religion in society e.g. |
- What is the significance of religion and spirituality as a form of ‘social capital’ (the motivation for social engagement, volunteer action and solidarity)?
- The effects of erosion of ‘spiritual capital’ on mental health ( stress, suicide, mental exhaustion, violence) and social commitment (individualism, lack of trust and social cooperation)
- The role of values-driven leadership in business
- The globalisation of spirituality and the emergence of a world spirituality
- How to measure the imbalance between spiritual and material needs?
