17-19/11/2023: Zen weekend with Bart Weetjens

Bart Weetjens, Zen monk, social entrepreneur and member of the board of directors of non-profit organization SPES-Forum will, during the weekend of Nov. 17-19, introduce us to the practice of Zazen, an ancient form of meditation.

A Zen retreat is traditionally called “sesshin” which literally means to become intimate with the mind, to learn to know ourselves. At the heart of this practice of becoming intimate with the mind is the seated meditation, or zazen.
But becoming intimate with the mind is not limited to zazen. During this 48h zazen retreat we will also practice attention and observation in all the activities we engage in: eating, walking, and simple handwork. All of these in harmonie with the awakening experience of zazen. When practiced mindfully, every action in our life can become a source of awakening to the true nature of our existence.

This retreat is meant for both beginners and seasoned practitioners. No prior experience is needed.
